I am a Vancouver-based fine art photographer. My work covers a wide range of topics ranging from architectural and the urban environment to visual abstractions created in my studio.

In this increasing complex and dangerous world, I strive to find some pleasure and peace of mind constructing abstract sculptural forms in my studio. The approach is conceptually based and experimental.

Photography as an art form allows me to transform an object without actually altering its essential nature or function. What you see may bear little resemblance to the original item of interest. In this way I am inviting the viewer to interpret what they are seeing and attempting to fulfill one of art’s functions, to challenge ideas about what is art.

Often I choose everyday recognizable objects. I find them in places such as thrift stores. Their life in my studio is temporary because once I have photographed them, I return them to their place origin.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design and a Continuing Studies Certificate in Photography from Langara College. I also have a Master of Arts from Simon Fraser University and a Master of Education from the University of Toronto.
